Terms of Use
Version 2026-10-17 · Last updated 17 October 2026
SoundLab (soundlab.my) is run by DOTZ TECH (SSM 202603153380 (003859253-K)), Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia ("we", "us"). These terms apply when you use SoundLab. By signing in, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.
1. What SoundLab does
SoundLab lets you upload audio you have the right to use, split it into vocals and music, change the volume and key, sync lyrics, make playlists and export your own mixes, for your personal use.
2. Your account
- You sign in with a Google account. Keep it secure: what happens in your SoundLab account is your responsibility.
- You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission.
- One person, one account. Don't create extra accounts to get more free credits.
3. Your music and your rights
- Only upload audio you own or have permission to use, for example your own recordings, music you have licensed, or music whose license allows this.
- You keep all rights to what you upload. You give us permission to store, process (for example split, convert and transcribe) and play it back to you, only to run SoundLab for you. We don't share, sell or publish your files, and we don't use them to train AI models.
- SoundLab is for private, personal use. Don't use it to share, sell or publicly release separated tracks, mixes or lyrics of music you don't have the rights to.
- Lyrics you paste or that SoundLab transcribes are for your own singing along only.
4. Things you must not do
- Upload anything illegal, or anything that infringes someone else's rights.
- Try to access other people's accounts or files, or get around plan limits, credits or rate limits.
- Overload, attack, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, or use it with bots or scripts.
We may remove content or suspend or close accounts that break these terms, including accounts that receive repeated valid copyright complaints (see our Copyright Policy).
5. Plans and credits
- The Free plan includes a limited number of vocal separations and lyrics syncs each month, a limited number of stored songs, and limits on upload size and song length. The current limits are shown in the app.
- Credits reset each month and don't carry over. A failed job doesn't use a credit. Deleting a song doesn't give a credit back, and deleting your account and signing up again doesn't reset this month's credits.
- Paid plans, if offered, will have their price and billing terms shown before you pay.
6. AI results
Vocal separation and lyrics sync are done by AI and won't always be perfect (for example, some music may remain in the vocals track, or a lyric line may be off). Please check results before relying on them.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep SoundLab running and your files safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors, so keep your own copies of important files. We may change or stop features. If we stop the service, we'll give reasonable notice so you can download your files.
8. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. This permanently deletes your songs, separated tracks, mixes, lyrics and playlists. See the Privacy Policy for the small record we keep for up to one month.
9. Liability
SoundLab is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or RM 50 if you used the Free plan). Nothing here limits rights you have under Malaysian consumer law that can't be limited.
10. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the version above and, for important changes, tell you in the app before they apply. If you keep using SoundLab after that, you accept the new terms.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia have jurisdiction.

Privacy Policy
Version 2026-10-17 · Last updated 17 October 2026
1. About this policy
This policy explains how SoundLab (soundlab.my), run by DOTZ TECH (SSM 202603153380 (003859253-K)), Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia ("we", "us"), collects and uses your personal data, in line with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010. It applies when you use our website and services.
2. Your rights and choices
- Access and correction: you can see and change most of your data in the app. You can also ask us for a copy of your personal data, or to correct it.
- Deletion: you can delete songs at any time, or your whole account in Settings → Delete account.
- Withdrawing consent: you can stop using SoundLab and delete your account at any time.
To make a request, contact us (see section 12). We may need to confirm it's you before acting on it.
3. Personal data we collect
- Account data: when you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, name and profile picture, and an account identifier.
- Your content: the audio you upload, cover pictures, and what SoundLab makes from it (such as separated tracks and exported mixes), plus song titles, lyrics, playlists, saved mixes and your settings.
- Usage data: your plan, and a record of the features you use that count toward your plan's limits (such as separations and lyrics syncs).
- Payment data: if you buy a paid plan, our payment provider processes your payment. We receive the status of your subscription and payments, but not your full card number.
- Technical data: when something goes wrong, details of the error, your browser and device type, and your account identifier.
When you add a video, only its sound and one still picture are uploaded; the video itself stays on your device.
4. How we use your personal data
- To provide SoundLab to you: sign you in, store and process your songs, and show your library, lyrics and playlists.
- To manage your plan, its limits and payments.
- To keep SoundLab working and secure: find and fix errors, and prevent abuse.
- To respond to your requests and messages.
- To meet legal obligations, such as handling copyright notices.
We don't sell your personal data, we don't show ads, and we don't use your songs, recordings or lyrics to train AI models.
5. Sharing your personal data
Your songs and data are private to your account. We share personal data only with:
- Service providers who help us run SoundLab, for example for hosting and storage, processing audio, payments, sign-in, and error reporting. They may only use it to provide their service to us.
- Authorities or others when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our users or the public.
- A buyer or successor if SoundLab is sold or transferred, who must then respect this policy.
6. Data retention
- Your account and content: until you delete them or your account.
- Error reports: up to 90 days.
- Payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- After you delete your account, we keep a small record for up to one month, made from a scrambled (hashed) form of your sign-in identifier and how many credits you used that month, so that deleting and signing up again doesn't reset the month's free credits. It contains no email, name or content.
7. Transfer to other countries
Our service providers may store or process your personal data outside Malaysia, for example in Singapore and the United States. When this happens, we take steps so your data stays protected as described in this policy.
8. Keeping your personal data safe
We use technical and organisational measures to protect your data, such as encryption in transit and access controls, so that only you can reach your songs and data. No system is completely secure, so please keep your Google account secure too.
9. Children
SoundLab is not meant for children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
10. Third-party links
SoundLab may link to other websites, such as Google's sign-in page or our payment provider's checkout page. Their own privacy policies apply there.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the version above and tell you in the app about important changes.

Copyright Policy
Version 2026-10-17 · Last updated 17 October 2026
SoundLab users may only upload audio they own or have permission to use (see our Terms of Use). Files in SoundLab are private to each account and aren't shared or published. If you believe content stored on SoundLab infringes your copyright, tell us and we'll act on it.
Reporting infringement
Email [email protected] with the subject "Copyright notice" and include:
- Your name and contact details, and whether you are the rights owner or act for them.
- The work you believe is infringed (for example song title and artist).
- What on SoundLab you believe infringes it, with enough detail for us to find it.
- A statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorised by the owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and that you are the owner or authorised to act for them.
What we do
- We review every complete notice, and where it's valid we remove or disable the content, usually within 5 working days.
- We tell the account holder what was removed and why.
- Accounts that receive repeated valid notices will be closed.
If your content was removed by mistake
If you believe your content was removed in error (for example it's your own recording, or you have a license), email us with your account email, what was removed, and why you have the right to use it. If the complaint was wrong, we'll restore it where we can.
Sending a notice you know is false can make you legally responsible for the harm it causes.
